Successful flea market for a good cause

Heroes in Schmelz help people in need with a flea market for GOOD PURPOSE

The Kolping Society DV Trier has called on all Kolping Families to take part in the 6-hour "KolpingHelden" campaign in May. It is about doing something good together for our fellow men or making the world a little bit more beautiful.

True to Adolph Kolping's motto "The needs of the time will teach you what to do", the Kolping Family Schmelz St. Marien decided to take over the sponsorship of the  GUTE ZWECK LADEN Schmelz in March 2023. And so, together with the team of the GUTE ZWECK LADEN, a flea market for a good cause was held in front of the GUTE ZWECK LADEN on Saturday, 13 May 2023.

Special items were offered for sale so that the proceeds could continue to help people in need. On the day of the action and in the run-up, 20 helpers were involved: windows were cleaned, tables were set up for the flea market and the visitors, a painting and handicraft corner was set up for children, cakes were baked and coffee was made so that visitors could browse through what was on offer from 12:00 to 15:00, but also had space and time for conversation.

Alexandra Krämer, education officer in DV Trier, visited the event on behalf of the Kolping Society DV Trier and expressed great appreciation to all "KolpingHelden".

At the end of the day the Kolping Family and the team of the GUTE ZWECK LADEN were happy about the income of 507,- Euros and plan a repetition in July, then with grilled sausages and cold drinks instead of coffee and cake.
